There is a full program of rodeo events such as steer wrestling, saddle bronc, bare back, team roping and barrel racing to name a few.
After taking in the fun of the Gresord Billy Cart Derby, saddle up for the ride of your life at Dungog as bull riders take on the biggest and meanest beasts Fitzsimmons Brothers can muster at the Dungog Showground.
“It’s just a 20 minute ride from Gresford to Dungog, over Bingleburra Hill – one of the most scenic drives in Australia, and with the recent rains, the country’s never looked so good,” Dungog Rodeo spokesperson Tom Borer said.
There’ll be a real mixed bag of things to see and do for everyone – a classic fun family day out, including a full program of rodeo events such as steer wrestling, saddle bronc, bare back, team roping and barrel racing to name a few.
Tuck into some old-fashioned country tucker at the barbecue kiosk. Joes Snow Cones will be selling the best Pluto Pups, hot chips and chicken burgers around.
There will also be coffee vans, ice cream and waffles available, fairy floss, popcorn and vegetarian and gluten-free food.
Other attactions inclued PBOZ with his big western wear bus, a jumping castle, vertical bungie, airbrush tattoo’s, clothing, jewellery, dream catchers and tin signs.
“A big thank you goes to our generous sponsors,” fellow event spokesperson Carol-Ann Cummnings said.
“Without them we wouldn’t be able to have the event be as successful as it is.
“A special mention also to Bailey’s of Greta, Lyn and Leo Dillon, and Buck Yeah, who kindly donated buckles for our event. Our major sponsors are on our chute gates so keep an eye out for those.”
Grand entry takes place at 6pm and as the final rodeo events conclude around 8.30pm, band “Triple Zero” will keep the crowd rocking.
Free camping is available so pull up a piece of dirt and settle in for the night and then get ready for the East Coast Junior Rodeo Championships on Easter Sunday from 8am to 2pm.
“This event is an opportunity for the juniors to try out their skills once more over the weekend,” Carol-Ann said.
“The Bunnies will have their kiosk running on both days for a sausage or steak sandwich and a cold drink.”
