Our program this year recognises local businesses which embrace the principles of good service, responsible management of employees, environment, sustainability and contribution to the community.

It also recognises and encourages new businesses operating in the Dungog Shire for less than two years.

We have also added a new category this year, the “Hall of Fame” award, which recognises a person who has made a significant contribution to business over a number of years.

They will have had a positive impact on advancing the business community in the Dungog Shire and have helped make the district what it is today.

This award is open for nomination.

Also, this year we are delighted to announce our major sponsor, The Dungog Chronicle, will present to the winner of the Overall Business Excellence category an advertising package with the Dungog Chronicle, which is valued in excess of $5000.

This is in addition to the winner’s trophy presented at the awards ceremony.

The 2017 Dungog District Chamber of Commerce Business awards have 14 categories which provide all types of businesses the opportunity to enter and be recognised.

The business awards programme concludes with our Gala Awards presentation, which will take place on May 13at the Clarence Town School of Arts Hall.

You can decorate your business on Purple and Yellow day on Friday, March 24.

This is part of the lead-up to the relay, which will be held from 2pm on March 25 to 8am on March 26 at the  Dungog Showground.
