Rain boosts cattle trade

March 22 2017 - 2:30am

There was a total yarding of 880 head of cattle at Singleton last week, 160 head more than the previous sale, Mick Dillon from Dillon and Sons reported. Numbers grew and the quality was mixed as the positive effect of the wet is felt. Most of the yarding was made up of young cattle suitable for restocker buyers. Prime vealers and grown cattle were limited. In the trade yarding prices for restockers were up with the best angus weaners reaching $4.01 a kilo.
