After the success of last year’s event the "Dungog Archies” is on again.
The competition is an opportunity for artists to paint or draw a recognisable Dungog Shire personality and be in the running for a share of $1000 in prizes.
Sponsored by the Dungog Medical Practice, the prize is acquisitive with Dr Brendon Chaston from the practice, who initiated the competition, the judge.
Last year’s event drew around 30 entries which were displayed at both the Dungog Art Society Gallery as well as the Medical Centre. Gaye Shield took out the top prize with a painting of her husband Bob Shield and their beloved pet.
The deadline for submitting this year’s entries is May 1 with completed works due by May 15.
An extravagant opening is planned for the evening of May 17 and announcement of the winner.
Nomination forms can be collected from the Dungog Arts Society Artist Studio Workshop at 102 Dowling Street or the Society’s website.
