The Sub branch held its AGM on February 16 with guest Brian Boughton CSC OAM, President of the Hunter Valley District Council.
The Executive Office Bearers elected were: President – Neil Tickle; Sen Vice President – Jim Olsen; Vice President – Greg Godde; Secretary – Tom Banister; Treasurer – Bob Curtin. Other positions such as Trustees, Welfare Officer, Pension Officer, Patrons, various delegates and Publicity Officer were also filled.
Since the inception of the Dungog RSL Sub-Branch in 1919 there has been 18 Presidents, 26 Secretaries, and 22 Treasurers.
The longest serving Executive member of the Sub-Branch was Mr W.E. Searl who held the Secretary’s position for 9 years and 21 years as the President consecutively.
Leading up to the 100th Anniversary in 2019 the Sub-Branch plans to print a background story of the former Executive Officers, their military background and their community involvement.
