The organisation originated in the UK in 1965 and has clubs worldwide, which are sponsored by Rotary.
The first Probus Club in Australia was formed in 1976.
The Probus Club of Dungog meets on the first Friday of each month at Dungog Memorial Bowling Club, 56 Brown Street, Dungog, commencing with morning tea at 10.30am.
Membership is by application and open to anyone of good character.
