HUNTER ILLEGAL DUMPING CAMPAIGN
Maybe instead of spending money on these billboards councils should use it to help lower tip fees, do kerbside pick ups, free tip weekends and so forth. Seems like a waste of time and money.

Maybe give ALL householders a yearly free tip pass. Not just those who own or are paying a mortgage. The people who can least afford tip fees are again discriminated against.

It all comes back to money. Yes there will always be people who do this but I believe it would be dramatically cut down if tip fees were reasonable for everyone. You need a loan to go there now if you have a good load to drop off.
I don’t drive and I’m on a pension so apart from this I get a free council tip pass. It always costs me heaps anyway as I have to pay someone to come and take it to the tip for me. My daughter just tipped her lounge suite it cost a ton and she’s on a pension.
Prices are completely over the top, I reckon, so it’s just too bad for people like us.

Taking rubbish to the dump should be free. That would be good for our environment.
People dump their rubbish because they refuse to pay the ridiculous fees.
Lucy Wiedeck
Lower the price of going to the dump. The prices are a joke!
Sarah Emelie
What average family can afford $100 to dump some rubbish?
Rodney Mark
It costs council $3million a year to clean up? (Rhetorical question.)
Realistically it doesn't, it’s just that councils think their time and effort is worth alot more than anyone else’s. They tend to inflate costs.
In any event, reduce the ridiculous tip fees and you'll be surprised how much you'll save. It's the outrageous cost to dump rubbish that encourages illegal dumping.
I'm not condoning it, but understand why people are doing it.
I've very close working relationship with councils as well as the waste and recycling industries so have first-hand knowledge and experience of the situation.

INCREASED TRUCK MOVEMENTS
It's bad enough driving on these bush track roads with trucks flying past or bearing down on you. Now they are going to hurt Paterson small business by affecting parking in the the street.
How are we supposed to support our fantastic local businesses when there is congested parking in Paterson now?
There’s also no pedestrian crossing and I fear it's only a matter of time before someone is going to be run over in the main street.
We have had trucks hit cars and keep driving because the driver didn't know he hit a car. Can only imagine if it's a person.

SUSPECTED SYNTHETIC DRUGS
Well done to the police! Keep up the great work. Let’s keep our community safe!
Police should be more interested in the drug users, not just the dealers. The drugs users on our streets and roads are a loaded weapon. Catch the users, then track down the dealers.

Bangkok Betty is what I used to be hooked on for a period of time. That stuff is the devil. Surprised it's still around under that name.
