Christmas giving trees are now set up in the offices of both R&R Property at Stroud and McElwaine Estate Agents in Dungog for the community to place a donated gift under.
“Each year we are overwhelmed by the generosity of people in our community who bring toys and gifts to the giving trees, ensuring every child in our community has a gift to open on Christmas day,” said Community Centre Manager Sarah U’Brien.
“The Community Centre’s Christmas programs are a wonderful way to share the true spirit of Christmas, to remind ourselves of the season of giving.
“It is so heart warming to be able to give a family a hamper full of wonderful food and gifts and see the smiles on the faces when that family knows that there truly are Christmas angels in their community who care for them.
“You may never see the gift be unwrapped, nor the Christmas table with the family all around but your gift of food and toys will be loved and gratefully received by people in your community.”
Mrs U’Brien thanked the community for their continued support of the project.
“None of these programs would be possible without the wonderful kindness of all in our community who donate.
“We are so lucky in our community to have businesses like R&R property and McElwaines Estate Agents who continue to support our community and enable the Community Centre to share the Christmas spirit with so many.”
Gifts and food can be dropped off to the giving trees and the Community Centre until December 16.
