The Dungog Shire Community Centre hosted a White Ribbon Day barbecue to “start the conversation” about domestic violence.

The centre’s committee member Gavin Dimery said domestic violence was an issue in every community and in every town.
“It’s got to stop and it’s up to other men to raise awareness of the issue,” he said.
“We need to start the conversation by having events like this where people see the white ribbon or the wrist band and say what’s that all about?”
Community Project Officer at the centre Beau Blanch said this was the third year the White Ribbon Day barbecue had run in Dungog.
Barrington Bakers supplied the bread, Dungog Soccer Club provided the sausages and David and the Tin Shed Brewery provided the venue.
