The workshops will encourage adults and young people to develop story telling skills and create a short script that could be developed for the screen.
Dungog Arts Foundation Director Nancy Knudsen said she was delighted the funding announcement for 2017 was made prior to this weekend’s festival which starts this Thursday, October 27.
“This is very important for next year’s festival, and will make a huge difference,”she said.
“This year we have major prize money on offer in the short film competition and we thought it was appropriate to go this way with workshops for screenwriting for next year.”
Michael Johnsen MP, Member for Upper Hunter, announced the grant which was part of the Country Arts Support Program.
