There’s night markets, a tractor parade, street theatre and buskers. Entertain the kids with loads of free street activities.
World renowned conductor, George Ellis, will even have his hilarious Conductor and the Clown show in town.
On the first Thursday evening, Dowling Street will be closed with tables set for 300 guests. Dine under the stars, in the midst of the stunning heritage buildings that line the streets of Dungog.
A short-film competition will run during the festival with $30,000 worth of prizes. Jurors include Matt Day – well-known to Australian audiences for roles in film, television and theatre. His roles include Kiss or Kill, Muriel’s Wedding, Love and Other Catastrophes and Doing Time for Patsy Cline. Prolific Australian film producer Kath Shelper and multi-award winning screenwriter, playwright and script editor Sue Smith will also be jurors. As will documentary filmmaker Jeff Hann and executive producer/producer, Marcus Gillezeau. There’ll also be film-maker talks and workshop with jurors and special guests.
At the artisan night markets there’ll be acts including David Field’s band, Trent Bell from X Factor and Kylee Jane from The Voice.

Grandparents day will be a chance for grandparents and grandkids to spend quality time together. Watch the magical “Fiddlesticks” at the James Theatre, then head to the primary school for face-painting, to see a magician and other fun activities. Parents are also welcome.
Journey by bus through Dungog to a stunning secret location and dine on a gourmet picnic selection, prepared by Settlers Arms chef Scott Cuskelly and Dungog's Dessert Queen, Louise Benson, surrounded by idyllic countryside as part of the Long Lazy Lunch.
