Mr Patfield was among the state’s best in the Traditional Australian Beef category.
Even though Mr Patfield has only been running Clarence Town Butchery for three months, this wasn’t the first time he has been judged on his sausages.
The 26-year-old snatched the Hunter Sausage King title in August.
Although Clarence Town Butchery didn’t win the title of NSW’s Sausage King, Mr Patfield felt humbled to mingle with top butchers.
“It was fantastic to talk with other butchers who have been in the business for 30 or so years,” Mr Patfield said. “Even though we didn’t win, no one can take away the title of best snag in the Hunter away from us.”
