Barry Allen has been a rugby league referee for many years and introduced Brett to refereeing when he was coaching his team.
Brett, who is now 18, has been refereeing now for four years and is also now a CRL referee, officiating in Country Rugby League games across the state.
His younger brother Jake, 15, has now started refereeing this year as well as playing for Dungog Warriors under-16s team.
Also branching out into refereeing is team-mate Jack Fisher who also started this year.
Last week at the Dungog versus Woodberry Friday night game Barry was appointed as referee along with Brett and Jake as his touch Judges.
“This was Brett and Jakes first game together and to have Barry their grandfather as the centre was a real family affair,” said mum Kirsty Eyb.
