Ms Cameron was accompanied by Hunter River Group representatives Di Innes, Kay Teterin and Dorothy Burke for the Wednesday, April 21 visit.
She has been visiting CWA branches in the Hunter River Group and this branch tour is her last as her tenure as state president nears its end.
Ms Cameron has been state president since 2013 and said that some of the most enjoyable aspects of her role as president included being involved with big-picture decision making, as well as advocating for women on issues that concern them.
Her visit began with a lovely morning tea hosted by the Gresford CWA branch before moving on to Dungog where Dungog-Clarence Town CWA members were the hosts for a luncheon attended by the visitors and members of both the local branches.
Guest speakers at the luncheon were Sarah U’Brien and Karen Maloney from Dungog Shire Community Centre who spoke of their work and involvement at the time and in the 12 months since last year’s superstorm.
After lunch a visit was made to the resilience photographic exhibition followed by a walk down to the Alison Court units.
The day ended with Dungog Evening CWA members hosting guests to dinner.
Ruth Dircks welcomed Ms Cameron and visitors, as well as members of Dungog-Clarence Town and Paterson CWA branches to her home.
Ruth and the evening members prepared a delicious meal and all enjoyed a lovely evening.
