A month long fundraiser by locals will culminate in a celebration at the Clarence Town School of Arts Hall on Saturday (Nov 28).
The event will feature dance performances, beard competitions, a barbecue, beer tasting and live music.
Organiser Colleen Duffy said her fellow organisers Lisa Lambert Smith, Maree Lynch and Natasha Brown thought Movember would provide an opportunity to have fun for a good cause.
“We saw a lot of things like Pink Day but there’s little attention given to men’s health in comparison,” Mrs Duffy said.
“But it’s been a lot of fun all month and the celebration on Saturday will be a great way to wrap it up.”
Local men Shaun Cox, David Boyd, Warrick Coe, Danny Shaw, Aaron Jones and Brad Steel have all ditched the razor to raise over $1100 for the cause so far.
“Men’s health, of course, will have a big impact on me,” Mr Steel said.
“I have a family history of prostate cancer and this is a good way to support that cause.”
The event will start at 3pm on Saturday at the School of Arts.
Sara Rowlando Class of Claro dance group will kick off the festivities. They will be followed by the over-35’s football team band, the Vinyl Destinations. There will be a Youth Art Prize judging, which has been running through the local schools with IGA and Perception Planning donating prizes.
Shine hairdressers will judge the best mo and beard and have donated prizes to the winner.
There will also be a photo booth with a handpainted background of historic Clarence Town. For more information contact Colleen Duffy on 0400 603 403
