The 15-year-old qualified in six events – and brought home six medals.
He earned gold in the discus, silver in the 100m, 200m, long jump and shot put events and bronze in the 800.
In all his events he achieved personal bests.
His mother Belinda said this was the best he had ever done in all his years of competition.
“From this event he qualified in all but the 800m race at the Nationals to be held in Melbourne next month,” she said.
“He has trained very hard over the last few months and obviously this has paid off.
“To qualify in five out of six events is unheard of.
“Thanks to [Dungog High School teacher] Tim Francey who has been coaching Lleyton in shotput and discus.
“He has been doing a lot of it in his own time and we are very grateful for his interest in Lleyton’s success.”
Lleyton will compete in the para-athlete 16 years and under events at the Australian All Schools Track and Field Championships in Melbourne in December.
He is a member of the Macquarie Hunter Athletics Club.
