The event is a wonderful opportunity for children to try a new sport, develop skills and make friends, all in a fun and supportive environment.
Running over two days the gala event pops up in different towns across the Dungog Shire each school holidays and this time it’s Clarence Town’s turn.
There will be a wide range of sports and games on offer, each with skilled, trained coaches that can guide children through the various sports helping them develop skills and confidence.
These holidays the sports program will include soccer, tennis, golf, cricket, gymnastics, AFL, bowls, boot camp, soft ball and rugby league.
The event is being held Clarence Town sports fields and surrounding venues on Tuesday and Wednesday, July 7 and 8 from 9am till 2.30pm.
The days are free to participate and a sausage sizzle is supplied.
"This is the second time the event is being held in Clarence Town,” said gala sports event chairperson Sarah U'Brien.
“During the Easter holidays it was held at Gresford where it was a wonderful success with over 300 children participating in these events.
“The days are a great way for children to try a new sport without the cost of fees, rego and uniform."
"The committee is made up of representatives from a number of sporting clubs from across the Dungog Shire and aims to provide low cost or free sporting opportunities for all children across the Dungog Shire, increase sporting participation and expose children to new and different sports and sports based activities,” said committee member Jim Doyle.
The days are open to all children aged five to 16 years.
