The 11-year-old Stroud Public School student was nominated by the school to attend the zone competition earlier in the year.
She was chosen first in the zone team and then went onto the regional carnival last month where she was selected to go on to state selection.
“I don’t know if I will be playing singles or doubles, the team manager will decide when we get down to Sydney,” the year 6 student said.
“I started playing when I was seven as mum and dad played and I thought it would be good fun.
“I play in the JDS [junior development series] every Sunday, travelling around the area to such places as Gosford, Singleton, Raymond Terrace and Newcastle.
“Every Sunday it is in a different spot.”
Charlotte has private coaching in Clarence Town on Monday afternoons and then Thursday a group lesson at Raymond Terrace.
At the April competition there will be players from Catholic, state and independent schools and the state team selected will compete in a national competition.
