Lily Barrett and Mikayla Hancock both attended Joey’s Pre-School and Early Learning Centre and are thrilled to be going to St Joseph’s Primary School together.
The girls, who are both five-years-old, have already worked out their menus for the week.
Mikayla is having a chicken sandwich for lunch with some of her favourite fruits which include apples, bananas, grapes, nectarines, strawberries and cherries.
Lily is going to make fruit pikelets with her mum Natasha and take along watermelon, strawberries, apples and bananas.
“I just like eating fruit,” she said.
“I have got a new uniform, backpack and shoes.
“I think I will be drawing, reading books and playing outside on the swings, but I don’t know if they’ve got a slippery dip or not.”
Mikayla will be writing and colouring in at school.
“There will also be colouring in books to use too,” she said.
While their first day at St Joseph’s is next Friday, the girls and their mums will spend one hour one-on-one with their teacher on Wednesday.
Lily is the daughter of Natasha and Chris Barrett while Mikayla is the daughter of Mark and Karen Hancock.
