This series was played at Cabramatta Bowling Club in Sydney on November 22 and 23 and whilst Country ultimately lost to City by a small margin, the Country teams performed most creditably across both days.
“I really appreciated the support shown by my mentors Jeff Beard and Kevin Maley who travelled to Sydney to watch me play on both days,” Ian said.
“Their support and advice was most welcome and valued.”
Players were selected for the City v Country series based on their performance on and off the green over the previous year in numerous events.
The series also acted as the final selection trial for the 2015 NSW Junior State “silver squad”.
Ian was ecstatic to be recently advised of his selection in this squad which allows him to work directly with state coaches.
“I will be able to develop goals that will further assist my personal development and ability in the game of bowls,” the 15-year-old said.
