With over 350 registrations for the event organisers shared the load and ensured all events went smoothly and safely.
"So many local people pitch in over the weekend and volunteer their services," said Allen Shrimpton, organiser of PedalFest's mountainbiking acitivities on the Dungog Common.
“We have the Scouts, the Lions, Rotary, the SES, the Thalaba Church, the Bandon Grove Hall committee, Dungog Public School canteen team, the James Theatre group and the stalwarts at the Visitor Information Centre - all pitched in and did PedalFest proud.
“There was even a rock band that materialised on Saturday morning, plugged in outside the Dungog Visitor Information Centre and pumped up the crowd before the Fosterton Loop Ride rolled off down the main street.
“Then there were volunteers doing traffic control, driving 'sag-wagons', helping lead rides and just pitching in whenever there was a job to be done.
“It's all a bit of world-class teamwork, and makes PedalFest a real community achievement."
Puddles were the highlight of the Kids & Cobwebs Ride on Friday and the mountainbikers loved the mud.
Campers at Dungog Showground braved some heavy rain, but despite the forecasts of rainy days, all the road riders stayed dry and presented a colourful parade across the landscape out to Fosterton, Thalaba and the Chichester Dam.
Again PedalFest raised several thousand dollars for the Westpac Rescue Helicopter.
