Surrounded by his family, wife Agnes and children Ron, Christine, Susan and Philip, he received numerous visitors and cards from his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Bricky was born and bred in the Dungog area, growing up at Chichester where he helped his father on the farm.
“He loved the bush and when we got married he went to work at Croll’s mill,” said Agnes.
“He contracted for a number of people but he was happiest when he was in the bush logging.
“He was even asked to trial the first two-man chainsaw.
“For sport he played cricket and he was a good golfer and trap shooter too.”
The couple celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary earlier in the month, on August 6.
Bricky and Agnes have nine grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
