The team was still without regular keeper so Sam Simmonds was again handed the responsibilities of keeping goals while Karyn Marsh had another stint on the field.
The last time these two sides met at Barnes Oval, Dungog put Mayfield United to the sword with astounding 9-0 defeat, but this time around Dungog ladies did not play all that well and Dungog allowed Mayfield back into the game by handing over possession in crucial areas.
It almost paid dividends for the home side with several failed attempts at goals.
Maybe it was the early start and not our normal time of 10am start that put us off our game and we had several key players missing due to injuries and with some players playing out of position because of missing personnel it makes it harder for a team gel.
Rachel Williams scored the only of the day and had several failed attempts.
Karlia Woods, Karyn Marsh, Megan Williams and Jaime Russell all had solid games,
Ashleigh Golden had another good game off the bench along with Hannah Long and Olivia Hannan.
The Royal Hotel sponsored awards for best and fairest went to Shelly Reed who had a strong game in defence as sweeper again this week.
The Royal Hotel players’ player award went to Jaime Russell who picked up her first award for the season with a good solid game before replacing Sam Simmonds goals in the second half.
She played well in goals and allowed Sam to have a run up front which nearly paid off with Sam having several failed attempts at goal.
Just like their male counterparts the all-age women have won 10 of 11 games so far this season and there biggest test will be this weekend when they take on Valentine ladies at the high school in a top of the table clash.
Valentine is the only team to have defeated the Dungog ladies so far this season and this promises to be a great rematch.
Everyone is looking forward to this game and hopefully seek some revenge from the 2-0 defeat inflicked on the Dungog ladies last time they met. Kick-off is at 10am.
