Areas in and around the Dungog town centre can now access the same internet speeds and bandwidth that others currently enjoy.
Federal Member for Paterson Bob Baldwin said he has campaigned for the Paterson electorate not to be overlooked when it came to faster broadband speeds.
“And I am pleased to see these results,” he said.
“The NBN fixed wireless broadband towers should have been the first to be rolled out, ahead of the fibre, as people in regional and rural areas inherently have slower access speeds, compared to the services available in the cities.
“I am glad that construction has begun on the National Broadband Network (NBN) towers across parts of Pitnacree, Tenambit, East Maitland and the three around the Stroud area.”
NBN spokesperson Trent Williams said more people in regional New South Wales were now a step closer to receiving fast, affordable and reliable broadband.
“For many farms, homes and businesses in rural and regional New South Wales the rollout of the NBN will provide access to internet speeds and bandwidth that many in the big cities take for granted,” he said.
“To be one of the first in your community to connect to the NBN, check our website and call your preferred phone or internet company when it becomes available.”
