Forty businesses from around the shire decked their halls, windows, foyers and vehicles with an array of Christmas baubles and decorations with visitors and residents commenting on the festive spirit.
The chamber invited all businesses, not just those with street frontages, to take up the challenge and provide their own Christmas display.
“The invitation went out to not only retail businesses but tradies, professional services, producers, manufacturers - anyone in business was welcome to enter,” said Chamber president Jennifer Lewis.
As well as making sure businesses were as attractive and welcoming as possible during the festive season, involvement also entitled all participating businesses and voters to win more than $1200 in cash and prizes.
The winner was Rumbel’s Family Trophies who received the nod from the judges and in doing so won $500.
Sparrow’s Dial-A-Ride was the peoples’ choice winner and won $500.
The James Theatre won $200 for the most unique which was donated and judged by Elaine Johnston.
And one voting customer went into the draw to win a HP 4300 computer pack valued at $900 and provided by Norris I.T.
The winner was Paul Tierney from Fosterton Road, Dungog.
“A huge thanks to the 40 participating businesses and 1500 voters within the community for making this competition such a success,” said Ms Lewis.
“I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.”
