Dancing and singing groups from Dungog High School and a dancing group from Dungog Public School Singers have been busy rehearsing for the four performances which begin on Friday.
The students have been practising for months but got together for the major rehearsals at the Newcastle Entertainment Centre on May 24.
The theme of this year’s event is the Time Machine.
It’s a production that almost never was, with the fate of the night in the balance last year without a major sponsor.
Director Lyn Cook said the primary school finale was based on Hoodoo Guru’s The Right Time and the high school finale on the modern single Party Time Rock.
“It’s just coming together so well I’m just so happy,” Ms Cook said at the first major rehearsal.
“They know their stuff already.”
The choir will again be conducted by Dungog High School’s music teacher Phyl Danvers.
This will include their feature item For the Beauty of the Earth by John Rutter, conducted by Mrs Danvers, and accompanied by the signing choir and orchestra
This is her 20th year of being involved with the choir.
The choir includes more than 500 students from 32 schools and will sing 16 songs.
The students will perform four shows, a matinee and night performance on Friday and Saturday.
