Ms Scher, the owner of Eyecare Plus Raymond Terrace, has received the national award for optometrists and dispensing opticians for excellence in their field.
The award was for excellence in customer service, her work in the specialised area of Eyecode lenses and investment in world class diagnostic equipment.
Eyecode lenses give five times higher precision versus a lens designed without information related to the eye – rotation – centre.
It is revolutionary innovation providing patients with instant vision without effort.
Ms Scher has been invited to attend the prestigious Varilux University in Parish.
“The university has earned the reputation as a centre of excellence and the modern training facility provides advanced training in new lens technology,” Ms Scher said.
“I will travel to Paris in June to learn about the latest lens technology and bring this information back to Australia.”
