17 Mar, 2010 04:00 AM
Friday night was a cold night for our members participating but this did not stop swimmers competing their best with many improving their personal best times or competing in events for the first time.

Six club records were broken.

This week saw Taylor Long swimming in the 9-years old girl break her first club record.

Taylor swimming in 66m breaststroke with a time of 1.11.19 has claimed this record which has been held since1988 by Katrina Tickle.

Swimming in the same event was Taylor's big brother Joshua Long who broke the record for the 13-year-old boy 66m breaststroke with a time of 58.59 seconds.

This record had been held by Luke Atkins since 1997.

Ben Peper in 9-years-old boy division swimming 4 x 33m medley claimed another record.

In a time of 2.15.97 Ben broke the record held by Liam Norris since 2005.

This is Ben's fifth record broken during the past three weeks.

Patrick Long again had his sights sent on breaking another butterfly record held by Adam Williams since 1999.

Patrick, competing in 14-year-old boys division swimming 100m butterfly with a time of 1.16.00, broke Adam's record.

Patrick was successful in claiming all three butterfly records (33m,66m and 100m) for his age group.
