Dungog students heading to state

17 Mar, 2010 04:00 AM
For the fourth year in a row Dungog High School will field a girl’s relay team for the Combined High School state swimming carnival at the end of the month.

The team of Emily Muddle, Isabella McInnes and Ellen Maytom has gone to state for the past three years and this year will be joined by Rhianon Denniss to field the 15-years age group entry.

Rhianon is not new to state competition though, having competed in an individual event before.

The girls were placed second at the regional swimming carnival in early March and last year were placed 11th at the state competition.

“We just missed out on a place and are hoping to do better this year,” Ellen Maytom said.

The competition will be held at Homebush Aquatic Centre on Monday, March 29.
