Diocesan representation

03 Mar, 2010 03:00 AM
St Joseph’s School in Dungog has one swimmer to represent the All Saint’s Cluster at the Diocesan swimming carnival.

Daniel Rumbel represented the cluster yesterday at the Newcastle Diocesan carnival held at Lambton Pool.

The eight-year-old competed in the nine years 50m freestyle and the junior boys 4x50m individual medley at the zone swimming carnival held last Tuesday and will compete in the same events at the Diocesan event.

“This is the first time I have been picked to go to the Diocesan carnival,” Daniel said.

“I reckon I will come third or fourth in the freestyle and maybe fourth or fifth in the medley.”

Daniel trains with coach Peter Maytom at Dungog pool three times a week and also competes at swimming club on Friday nights.
