Apex sponsorship aids netballers

11 Jan, 2012 03:00 AM
The Apex Club of Dungog is sponsoring two local representative netball teams.

Club president Dylan Wade said the organisation was approached by Dungog Netball Association as they wanted to send two teams to the State championships in Sydney next year.

Jess Murray from the netball association said 2011 was the first time since the 1990s Dungog has had teams represented at the championships.

“This year the championships are at Penrith in the June long weekend and we will be sending an under 17 years and open aged team,” Ms Murray said.

“We are really appreciative of the Apex Club’s sponsorship as it will go a long way in helping with costs to get the teams to Sydney.”
