Success on track

11 Jan, 2012 03:00 AM
Two former Dungog High School students have excelled in their chosen sport of FX Superbike riding.

Last year Duncan Middleton of Wallarobba won the national B-grade FX superbike series and his friend Jesse Mueller won the C-grade championship.

Duncan and Jesse, who are both 26, rode Honda CBR 1000RR motorcycles.

Duncan and Jesse's success was more of a result of skill, determination and love for their sport than comprehensive resources and sponsorship.

Duncan is still at the University of Newcastle where he is currently undertaking degrees in business and mechanical engineering.

Jesse graduated last year and now works for Sandvik as a mechanical engineer.

Next year Jessie is preparing a BMW 1000RR to race in the FX Superbike Series and Duncan has yet to decide his racing future.

Duncan has been invited to a test ride with a Kawasaki-based team this month.
