Motorcycle racer Robert Young has again shown he has the speed to take on all comers.
In 2009 Young, from Vacy, was crowned Australian Champion in the P4 Historic Road racing class.
With this title in the bag it was decided to travel to Phillip Island in Victoria to contest the Island Classic historic road racing event.
Riders from all over the world attend the meeting which is regarded as one of the toughest in the world.
Young again rode the 1972 Ducati 750SS which is prepared by his father Ron, and they were assisted by Young’s brother Thom.
Showing that his Australian title was no fluke, Young put the Ron Young Engineering Ducati on pole position in the hotly contested P4 Unlimited class, and then proceeded do decimate the rest of the field, winning every race.
“I knew I could win the event,” said Young.
“My father has worked extremely hard to make the bike the best in Australia, and I am now starting to learn how to ride it to its and my potential.
“We would love to take the bike overseas to contest the Manx Grand Prix, which is run on the Isle of Man in the Irish Sea.
“This event is the pinnacle for this type of racing and I think we can give them a real shake up if we can secure some funding."
The team is considering again travelling to Phillip Island in late February for the Superbike World Championship, where support classes include historic era machines.
