Major singles begin

Last weekend at Dungog Bowling Club three games of major singles were played.

Michael O’Neill defeated Terry Wilson, Howard Young defeated Andrew Deasey and Fred Longbottom defeated Phil Reeves.

In club triples Malcolm McDonald, Phil Reeves and Damien Reeves defeated Ian Greig, Bob Campbell and Ken Russell, Stephen Neilson, Michael O’Neill and Craig Walters defeated Ron Moseley, Alan Fisher and David Muir.

Next Saturday the semi-final of the major singles will be played.

John Lill will play Michael O’Neil and Howard Young will play Fred Longbottom.

Last week at Tuesday Clique there were 20 bowlers.

Winners on the day were Jim Merton and John Copus.

Runners-up were Tony Higgins, Warren Eyb and Bruce Roberts. Dill of the week was John Copus and treasure chest was won by Kevin Maley.

The nomination forms for the Dungog Shire Bowls Championships are now available at the club. Nominations close on June 18.

The championships will start on Saturday, July 3.

Championships will be played at Clarence Town. For more information check the noticeboard at the club.
