Good numbers on bowling green

Last week at Dungog Bowling Club’s Tuesday Clique there were 36 bowlers.

Winners were Tony Higgins, John Copus and John Thronsen. Runners-up were Beau Thorne, Wayne Perrin and Dennis Wilkinson.

Wayne Pritchard was the dill of the week and Gary Picton won the treasure chest.

Loser’s draw winners were Kevin Cox, Jim Merton and Ken Russell.

Friday night bowls winners were Dennis Wilkinson and Ken Russell with runners-up being Bob Campbell, Michael O’Neill and Jim Turner.

On Saturday the first round of the club fours was played.

Geoff Olsen, Phil Haigh, Jeff Beard and John Bliss defeated Bill Tyne, Graham McCarthy, David Muir and Kevin Maley. Phil Reeves, Steve Neilson, Craig Walters and Damien Reeves defeated Ron Moseley, Dennis Cavanough, Jon Martin and Ian Watson. Alan Fisher, Craig Deasey, Andrew Deasey and Allan Golledge defeated Wayne Perrin, Jim Turner, Ian Greig and Ken Russell.

Basil Turnbull, Don Middlebrook, Malcolm McDonald and Howard Young defeated Col Webb, Sheldon Hicks, Fred Longbottom and Bob Berry.

As there were eight teams entered this round were also the quarter finals.

On Saturday evening there were 18 bowlers with the winners being Spencer Thompson and Tony Higgins.

Runners-up were Fred Longbottom and Fred Sellens. Third place went to Bob McGlashan, Robyn Martin and Chris Sternbeck.

Lucky draw winners were Jim Merton, Brian Thorsby, Terry Doosey and Mike Winters.

On Sunday afternoon one of the club fours semi finals was played with Allan Golledge and his team getting a victory over Howard Young’s team.

This Friday evening there will be open mufti pairs with meat prizes to be won. Names in by 5pm for a 5.15pm start.

On Saturday evening there will be open mufti pairs with meat prizes to be won. Names in by 6pm for a 6.15pm start.
