Round one of the Theo Neville Shield was conducted on Sunday at Gloucester.
This event is a three-way contest involving teams of 10 from Dungog, Gloucester and Stroud with a round being played on each of the three courses.
Gloucester hosted the first round and the home ground advantage was reflected in the scores.
With the best eight scores to count, Gloucester drew first blood with 276 points, followed by Stroud with 238 and Dungog a further 19 points behind with 219 points.
Three Gloucester players, Dave Mann, Paul Benson and Garry Randall shared the best individual score with 36 points and balls went to players on 35 points.
This included Gloucester players Chris Lawrence and Drew Garland, Dungog players Robert Foot and Ted Russell, as well as Chris Sallard from Stroud.
The second round will be played at Stroud on Sunday.
