The winds of change

05 Aug, 2009 05:00 AM
In a moment of megalomaniacal madness H & H is going to cross several demarcation boundaries and, with presidential-like power, decree Wednesday to be Windsday from now on.

No, this is not a nod to our Kiwi neighbours on the eve of the battle for the Bledisloe Cup.

Rather a recognition that there is always a fierce wind blowing on golf day lately.

Could this be the winds of change?

With the two youngest players featuring in last Windsday's competition results, this is a real possibility.

Sara Dowling won the day with 34 points.

Judy Olsen, proving that the old guard is still a force to be reckoned with, came in second with 32 points.

The big-hitting newcomer, Nicole left them Whaling in her wake when she took out nearest the pin.

Today we play the District Medal and sixth medal round, while next week is

the 27 hole Abbott Cup.

Better get into training ladies and build up that stamina.
