Championships off to a flying start

09 Jun, 2010 05:00 AM
We may have been small in number, but we were huge on enthusiasm for the first round of the Dungog ladies club championship last Wednesday.

There were some simply marvellous scores posted on a beautiful winter’s morning.

Coming up trumps in the first of three rounds were June (kilo)Watt (1st div), Dancing Queen Dowling (2nd div) and Shirley Cox (3rd div).

Nearest the pin went to June Watt (1st div) and Shirley Cox (2nd div).

In a frenzy of over-achievement, the Dancing Queen took out both the putting and the monthly medal for May.

The second round will be played today, with the final round scheduled for next week.

Cross you fingers for the weather to be kind. Good luck ladies.
