Top honours for Jessica

As we welcome another year of pony club for 2010, I need to firstly finish with the news for 2009.

Dungog Pony Club held their annual presentation at the Royal Hotel. From our feedback the night was a great success, and we thank the Royal Hotel for their support and great service.

We had many highlights during the night and some wonderful individual results. Congratulations to all our members, parents/carers and executive for their efforts throughout 2009. Results for our perpetual awards were as follows.

The attendance awards are given to the members who consistently attend the most instructions days throughout the year. Senior attendance award went to Jessica Maher, and the junior attendance went to Grace Maher.

The Doug Eyb memorial endeavor award is awarded to a member who always gives 100 per cent in every phase and this member was Jessica Neave.

The Eddie Rumbel encouragement award was awarded to Madison Hammonds.

Madison has improved tremendously in her riding and this award was in recognition of that effort.

The Nicole Trappel sportsmanship trophy was awarded to our club captain Aleah Sullings. Aleah is a great ambassador for our club she can always be heard giving encouragement. Aleah is a good example of what a role model should be.

The Ray McKenny memorial award is a pointscore award. Throughout the year members are given points for their presentation and at the end of the year the points are tallied. The winner for 2009 was Jessica Maher.

The president’s award for 2009 went to Riley Simon. Riley joined pony club in 2009, and she hasn’t looked back. She is only a little girl, but one with a big heart and we will definitely be looking forward to a big year from Riley in 2010.

The next award is donated by Dennis Rapson, and it is for the highest pointscore at the annual Jamboree. Alexis Neilson was the winner for the second year running, congratulations.

Our next awards are pointscore awards for the zone days. The zone days consist of dressage, showriding, sporting, campdrafting and jumping.

Dungog Chronicle campdrafting award - Cody Farley. The Jeffery family sporting award - Victoria Allen. The Irwin Family showjumping award Jessica Neave. The Margaret Pass award for dressage - Samantha King. The Melinda Morris award for equitation - Melissa Hardes. Dungog Pony Club showriding - Tameeka Woodberry.

Perhaps our biggest award of the night, is the overall Zone 25 Highest Pointscore Award. This is for the highest pointscore winner across the board in all phases. The 2009 recipient was a very excited Jessica Neave.

Congratulations Jess on a great year, and we sincerely hope your success in 2010 continues.

To top of the night, we have interclub pointscore, where the information and points from interclubs throughout the year are collated and tallied.

With the generosity of some wonderful business houses and families we are able to give our winners some excellent prizes. The aim of this pointscore is to encourage our members to travel to other clubs and compete in their interclubs, where they will be supporting Dungog Pony Club, but also each and every other club in our zone. Congratulations to all our champions, reserve champions and runners up, and again good luck for 2010.

Finally thank you to our sponsors who made this presentation the biggest and best to date and we look forward to your continued support throughout 2010.
