Not only did Lachlan Richardson win the junior bull ride in Tamworth last week, he also met the Governor-General Quentin Bryce.

The Mt Rivers cowboy finished last week’s National Junior Rodeo Finals with his name engraved on four new shiny national title buckles.

Last Wednesday he was crowned national champion 14 to under-18 years junior bull rider, was first in the juvenile steer ride for the same age group and claimed the steer ride title for the 14 to under-18 years age group.

He also won the Central Circuit and Bad Company Circuit for the steer ride.

“This year it’s been good,” said the 17-year-old cowboy.

“The competition was pretty tough at Tamworth, there were good bulls and steers.”

The circuit has just begun again for Lachlan and this weekend he will be competing at Cassilis and Rockley this weekend.
