Gresford Showground will host another great campdraft and rodeo competition this Friday and Saturday.
Rodeo secretary Rosemary Wall said the grounds are drying out nicely after some heavy rain falls in July and the sub-surface drainage under the grounds are working well to maintain an excellent competition surface.
“Friday will see the running of the first three of our eight campdraft events during the day and then on Friday night we will run our second annual junior rodeo from around 6pm,” Mrs Wall said.
“The kids that compete in these events are every bit as professional and skilled as their parents and are well worth watching as they are the champions of tomorrow.
“Saturday will host the remainder of our campdraft competitions and of course the main rodeo.
“We have a full program back this year with the return of the steer undecorating event for the ladies.
“As usual all events will be split into rounds that are run randomly throughout the day so it never gets boring and you never miss an event if you get there a little late.”
Rodeo action starts at 10am and will continue through until around 9pm when rock legends “The Haz Bins” will take over the entertainment.
“They are one of the best bands we’ve ever had at the rodeo and they make it really hard to just sit in your seat and not join in,” Mrs Wall said.
“As usual the “hill” will be available for spectators to spread a blanket and relax with the kids or if you prefer you can bring your own chair and enjoy a bird’s eye view of the competition in comfort.”
Entry to the rodeo on Saturday will set you back $15 per adult, $6 for kids under 15 and concession or we have a family ticket for $35.
There is a fully licensed facility on the grounds so there is no BYO allowed and patrons are encouraged to consider camping overnight.
