On February 12 the under 12’s Dungog and District Junior Cricket Association (DDJCA) representative team played in their final game of the Macquarie Generation Cricket Tournament at Singleton.
Dungog was well represented with players from Gresford, Paterson, Karuah, Seaham and Dungog.
The team played exiting cricket throughout the series securing a win against Cessnock whilst playing some very close games against Maitland, Upper Hunter, Singleton and Tamworth.
All our players showed great improvement with each game as confidence levels grew resulting in a fantastic experience for all the team.
Of particular note our junior cricketers displayed at all times during their matches excellent sportsmanship and conduct making I am sure all the parents very proud of the boys.
This tournament has provided a solid platform for our cricketers to participate in next year series which we hope will redeem our junior cricketers even greater success.
The DDJCA was also represented with an under 14 team.
The association thanks the Macquarie Generation for their support of this terrific junior cricket series, Chris McDonald for his wonderful contribution as manager of the team, all the other teams that competed and the parents of all our players for their commitment in supporting the boys over the last three months.
The DDJCA would also like to thank and acknowledge the very generous support of our sponsors Larry Bashford of S.L.E. Industrial Supplies and Dungog Memorial RSL Club.
