14 Dec, 2011 03:00 AM
Vacy Public School student Lleyton Lloyd was rewarded for his sporting success with a state representative certificate for representing New South Wales in the School Sports Australia competition in Darwin earlier this year.

The 11-year-old was a member of the NSW Primary School Sports Association team and competed in three events, 100 metres, shot put and relay, at the September 15 to 19 event.

Lleyton is ranked fifth in Australia in the 11-year-old athletes with a disability 100 metres.

The shotput relay team came second and Lleyton was second in the team long jump relay.

He also achieved a new personal in the 100 metres and shotput throw.

Lleyton’s mum Belinda thanked Vacy Public School P & C, teachers and students and the local community who supported him in raising funds in the out of uniform sports day and purchasing raffle tickets from him to make the trip to Darwin possible.

Lleyton is a member of the Macquarie Hunter Little Athletics association.
