 Pool lifter for Clarence Town

Pool lifter for Clarence Town

18 Nov, 2009 04:00 AM
People who would normally have trouble getting in and out of a swimming pool are now able to enter safely after a pool access lifter was recently installed at Clarence Town.

The Primary Club of Australia and Clarence Town Lions Club have provided the community of Clarence Town with the lifter, valued at $12,800.

President of the Lions Club Betty Tooth said it will be a welcome addition to the pool.

“It gives everyone a chance to use the pool,” she said.

The lifter was officially handed over with a demonstration in October.

The Lions Club’s next project is a feeder chair for a small child in the community.

“There is always someone requiring a hand somewhere out there,” Lion Tooth said.

“That is what we are all about, even though we are a voluntary organisation.”
