Park planning underway

09 Jun, 2010 05:00 AM
Planning is underway with Great Lakes Council for improving facilities at Stroud’s Allan Park.

Stroud Playgroup coordinator Sheridan Thomas said ideas for the community space include new play equipment, a bike track, adult exercise equipment, permanent seating, native gardens and possibly even a community food garden down the track.

“This is rapidly becoming a fantastic community project,” Ms Thomas said.

“We’ve already had some great input from a range of community interests and Great Lakes Council has been terrific.”

A working group is being formed to keep the project on track and ensure broad community support continues.

“We want to develop an overall project plan and then break it down into stages to make it manageable and to make funding opportunities more realistic.”
