Newly planted trees going well with love and care from Clarence Town Lions Club

25 Jan, 2012 04:00 AM
The crepe myrtle trees planted by the Lions Club of Clarence Town late last year and going ahead in leaps and bounds.

Fourteen trees were planted in Grey Street with the club hoping to plant more in Prince Street up to the police station.

Secretary Bill Pitkin said the club has 12 active members who have been nurturing the trees.

“Last week we weeded and mulched around them and gave them a drink of water,” he said.

“We got the trees in four different colours and they will look great when they start flowering.”
