Locals spend up at Gloucester Bull Sale

The 52nd annual Gloucester All Breeds Bull sale was held on Wednesday and Thursday August 4 and 5 at Gloucester Saleyards with 126 bulls offered for sale.

On Wednesday, the Herefords and Poll Herefords went under the hammer with the top price of $8,000 paid for two Curracabark Herefords.

On Thursday Angus, Shorthorn, Santa Gertrudis, Charolais, Composite, Devon, Droughtmaster, Limousin, Simmental and Murray Grey bulls were sold.

The sale top of Thursday was $6000 for an Angus bull from the Pentire Angus Stud at Singleton.

The Richardsons purchased Onward Mahogany for $5250, the top price for a Murray Grey at the sale. Sue, from Dorrigo, attended the Gloucester All Breeds Bull sale for the first time and sold both Murray Greys entered in the sale for an average of $4125

Chris Watson and Troy Urquhart of Kimbriki Angus stud, Kimbriki with Matt Urban from Sandy Creek Cattle at Girvan. Kimbriki sold one of their bulls for $4,500 at the Gloucester All Breeds Bull sale on Thursday.
