Two farmers assisted paramedics to extricate an injured quad bike rider from step terrain after an accident at Wallaringa last Thursday morning.
An ambulance spokesman said the 47-year-old Wallarobba man was spraying weeds on the property when his quad bike rolled in mountainous country around 10am.
“The vehicle and the man rolled down the steep embankment with the driver coming off while the bike continued down the hill,” the spokesman said.
“The man sustained chest and back injuries and was extricated up the 30-foot hill using a stokes litter and pulled by ropes.
“The rescue helicopter landed 100 metres from the site of the accident, with Dungog paramedics assisted at the scene by helicopter paramedics, Dungog and Stroud police and two farmers.”
The man was flown to the John Hunter Hospital in a stable condition and released the following day.
